QUILTING
I was fortunate enough to participate recently in a quilting bee at the London College of Fashion, situated on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in the East End of London. I met so many lovely and interesting people as we sat around the quilting frames, exchanging stories about our journeys along the road into the world of quilting.
Within The Frame was organised by two lovely people. Deb Mcguire , Historian, Writer and gifted hand quilter and maker and Dr Jess Bailey, Art Historian and gifted hand quilter and maker. It was probably one of the most enjoyable afternoons I have spent in a long time. As well as meeting so many interesting people from all ages, sexes and different walks of life, I was able to enjoy quilting on a proper large quilting frame for the first time in my life.. I am just sorry that lack of available space at home prevents me from immediately ordering one for myself. Maybe if I ever win the lottery!
I would urge you all to check out Deb's website, which contains a lot of really interesting and fascinating stories and articles. Please see below for the details.
